ashtanga basics

Basics is structured around learning the postures and vinyasas (connecting movements)  of the Ashtanga series. Class consists of breaking down and practicing postures. The first two movements of an Ashtanga class are quite detailed. These two movements are called Sun Salutations and they build heat, strength and stamina. After working on the Sun Salutations, the class moves onto standing postures and then finally floor postures. The majority of postures in the standing series for beginners are variations of forward bends.  The class proceeds for 6 weeks. New postures are added slowly and  with practice we refine all the movement in general. The pace of the class is for first timers. Unlike our other classes no walk in's are allowed.
